Dublin, Ireland's capital city, is located just 25km away. It is easily accessed by train and buses that run frequently to and from Maynooth. On-campus accommodation has around 900 rooms, with 40% reserved for first-year students.

4-Year Structured PhD Programme from 2010

NUI Maynooth will be offering a 4-year structured PhD programme in a number of disciplines from September 2010. A key aspiration of the 4-year programme is advancement of knowledge through research. It is also underpinned by structured training in generic and transferable skills.

The 4 year structured PhD programme will be initially available in the following disciplines:

Immunology; Economics and Finance; Network Mathematics, Social Science; Humanities (Celtic Studies, History, Music, English, and Translation Studies) with ICT; and Environment and Climate Change.

Full or partial scholarships are available for the right candidates.

Applicants must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level. Certain programmes may have additional requirements. Those whose first language is not English are required to provide proof of English proficiency.
